Downtown Salisbury Powell Building apartments set to open in 2020
SALISBURY, Md. – 47 ABC got a look at the new apartment units that will be available inside the renovated Powell Building set to open downtown this year.
Drywall is currently going up inside the Powell Building. The mixed use project will have 20 apartment units and 10-thousand square feet of commercial space for Main Street Kids. Gillis Gilkerson says the estimated price range for the 1 and 2 bedroom apartments are $1,200 to $1,400 a month plus utilities. Developers say they’re excited to add more residential spaces to downtown Salisbury.
“The more heartbeats and the more bodies and souls we can bring downtown, the better mix we’ll have as a community and we are really excited to be a part of that and we think it’s going to be a very successful project,” says Brad Gillis, a principal with Gillis Gilkerson.
The building will also have amenities like security, a gym and secured on site parking underneath the building. Developers tell 47 ABC they don’t feel the pandemic will stop any of the construction progress so everything should be complete late summer or early fall.
