UMES to hold classes online until April 3rd

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. – The University of Maryland Eastern Shore is taking precautions to help prevent the spread of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) to our area.

School officials began limiting meetings and large gatherings on Tuesday, March 10th. They also began encouraging social distancing, remote learning and preparing those who are able to telework.

From March 23rd through April 3rd (after Spring Break), instruction will be delivered online. Officials say they do not expect the campus to be closed during this period, however, they are asking students to not return to campus until Saturday, April 4th. Students should monitor their campus email as well as the University’s social media pages for updates.

UMES says they will continue to operate as usual, faculty and staff should report to campus until further notice.

They will continue to re-evaluate the situation on a daily basis.
