TRS-CPA offering help navigating taxes during COVID-19

SALISBURY, Md. – A local accounting firm is offering help to people trying to navigate the state and federal programs being offered during COVID-19.  TRS-CPA Group tells us companies and their employees are dealing with a lot of changes as some businesses are forced to cut back on staff.

The firm says they’re helping people figure out Maryland and Delaware’s grant and loan programs. The programs cover a number of issues, including helping employers to keep their employees and recover from lost revenue. A senior accountant at the firm says COVID-19 is impacting everyone financially. “Those nonessential are asked to close their doors. They have lost revenue. They’re also being asked to retain their employees and pay them if possible, which is kind of creating a hurdle for small businesses, and employees are having trouble,” said Matthew Bossle, senior accountant.

Bossle says both Maryland and Delaware offer many resources to help with the grants and loans. He recommends talking to your company’s payroll provider for federal assistance.
