Assateague Island National Seashore changing operations

BERLIN, Md.- Assateague Island National Seashore announced that starting March 28 it will be closed to all park visitors until further notice.

They are making these additional modifications in response to guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, NPS Office of Public Health, US Public Health Service and the Worcester County, Maryland Health Department.

They said the health and safety of their visitors, employees, volunteers, and partners is their number one priority.

We are told the National Park Service is working servicewide with federal, state, and local authorities to closely monitor the coronavirus pandemic.

They will notify the public when they resume full operations and will provide updates on their website at www.nps.gov/asis.
