Haueisen gets his 1,000th point as Decatur rolls past Bennett

BERLIN, Md.- Its been a Player of the Year type season for Drew Haueisen and it got even better tonight. Midway through the first quarter, Haueisen hit a tough lay up through contact to pass 1,000 points on his career. In his second season as a full time starter, Drew has averaged 25.9 points and 15.5 rebounds per game.

It was a two point, 14-12 Decatur lead to end the first quarter and the Clippers kept it close in the second. Jordan Williams (5) DJ Belin (5) and Josh Johnson (6) kept it just a two point deficit for Bennett headed to the half. For Decatur, in his first home game since transferring back, Churchill Bounds led the Seahawks with 11 halftime points.

In the second half, the Seahawks pulled away leading by ten at the end of the third quarter. With Bounds stopping up the lane, the Clippers struggled to get points inside all night. Late in the fourth, Bennett was able to cut the lead to seven with 36 seconds to play but were unable to complete the comeback. Decatur holds on for the 73-66 win over Bennett.
