North Caroline girls survive scare, pull away in second half

HURLOCK, Md. – North Caroline improved to 5-3 on the season after a 62-50 victory against North Dorchester Thursday evening.

The Bulldog defense was stifling in the first quarter, allowing just 4 points, while racing to a 8-point lead.

North Caroline maintained a double-digit lead for a portion of the second quarter, but a 17-point quarter from Breisha Cephas trimmed that lead to just one at halftime.

Cephas put the Eagles in front twice in the third quarter, but the Bulldogs pulled away early in the fourth quarter and never looked back.

Kandice Thomas led North Caroline with 30 points. Cephas led all scorers with 36 points, Kiera Dockins added 9 for North Dorchester.
