Police: Mother hit, killed by car while riding bikes with 9-year-old child

STOCKTON, Md. – Maryland State Police are investigating a fatal motor vehicle collision on Stockton Road in the area of Wesley Road, near the Stockton Fire Department in Worcester County, Maryland. According to police, the fatal accident occurred on Stockton Road in the area of Wesley Road around 5:15 p.m. Sunday. When police arrived, they found that 43-year-old Erica Lynn Wolff had been hit by a pickup truck. Wolff was apparently riding bicycles with her 9-year-old child when the accident occurred. Police say the child, who was on another bicycle, was not physically injured. Police say the driver of the truck, 20-year-old Charlie Marie Shaw, was uninjured as well. Investigators add that the exact cause and contributing circumstances remain under investigation at this time.
