Former Del. State Police building to become new homeless shelter

LEWES, Del. – A Delaware commission has voted to allow a nonprofit organization to turn a former State Police building into a new homeless shelter.

We’re told the Commission on State Surplus Real Property made the unanimous decision on Wednesday. The new shelter, Love Inc., is scheduled to open in Lewes on Monday.

The facility is expected to house up to the 30 people, and according to the director, it will run through March on nights when temperatures drop below freezing.
