Single vehicle crash in Georgetown under investigation

GEORGETOWN, Del. – Delaware State Police are investigating a serious crash involving a single vehicle that happened Thursday night in Georgetown.

According to police, the incident happened shortly before 11 p.m., on Asbury Road east of Davis Road. The driver of a Chevrolet Cobalt failed to negotiate a moderate curve in the road, subsequently veering off the roadway and overturning multiple times before coming to rest in an open field.

Police say the driver and sole occupant, a 28-year-old Laurel man, was not properly restrained and was ejected from the vehicle. He was taken to Nanticoke Memorial Hospital and later transferred to Christiana Hospital in critical condition.

The crash remains under investigation.
