Bennett Girls hit triple digits in opening night roll of Cambridge

SALISBURY, Del.- Behind 29 points from Peanut Smullen in the first  half, Bennett girls basketball went on to win 101-38 over Cambridge to start the season 1-0. The Vikings drop to 0-1.

It was all Bennett early, the Clippers returning all of their starters from a season ago. Jumping out to an early 30-13 lead after the first quarter, Bennett dominated from three. Mekara Hanson drained two and Smullen added another.

The Vikings were able to get a little offense going in the first, Kenya Jones put up seven in the quarter, including a nice behind the back move through the lane for an easy lay up.

In the second quarter it turned into the Peanut Smullen show. Five 3’s and 29 total points in the first half. The Clippers added 27 points in the quarter to take the 59-22 lead and held on to take it 101-38 over Cambridge.

Bennett returns to action next Tuesday when they travel to Mardela to take on the Warriors. The Vikings look to get win number one on the year when they take on Crisfield next Tuesday.
