Blue Raiders run win streak to 19 with shutout of Lake Forest
GREENWOOD, Del. – Woodbridge continued their dominance against Division-II football in Delaware with a 21-0 shutout of Lake Forest Friday night.
Blue Raider quarterback Dalton Perdue tossed a 31-yard touchdown to La-Tyron Stones to open the scoring just before half.
Lake Forest had their share of chances in the first half. Woodbridge stopped the Spartans at their own 12- and 10-yard lines. The Spartans were also halted at the 1-yard line as time expired.
Spartan coach Fred Johnson disputed with referees after the clock had expired whether or not quarterback Damian Galindez had spiked the ball in time for Lake Forest to run another play.
Joshua Benedict recovered a fumbled snap early in the fourth quarter deep in Lake territory. The turnover led to a Jayquon Massey touchdown run to open the lead up to two scores.
The shutout was Woodbridge’s fourth in their last five games. The Blue Raiders have now outscored their opponents by a 290-40 on the season.
Woodbridge (9-0) will finish off the regular season at Delmar on Friday night at 7:30 PM.
Lake Forest (7-2) travels to Milford to play the Buccaneers next Friday at 7 PM.
