Wicomico officials seek public input on draft plan of Pirate’s Wharf Park

SALISBURY, Md. – Wicomico County officials are turning to residents in the area for feedback on their draft master plan for Pirate’s Wharf Park. From now until November 7th, public comment is open for anyone to give their thoughts on the plans to transform the area into a multi-recreational park. Additions include hiking trails, observation decks, and boat ramps for visitors to enjoy. But officials are also working to conserve as much land as possible at the same time. Which is why they say it’s so important to hear back from the community before they move forward with anything else.

“For the next 30 days that’s posted on our website. You can look at that with full transparency, see the plan see the things that we’re looking to do and offer a public comment and we will take all that into consideration,” said Wicomico County Parks and Recreation Director, Steve Miller.

Wicomico County officials add that they’re still on track to finish construction on Pirate’s Wharf by 2021, and if you would like to give your feedback on the plan just head online to wicomicorecandparks.org.
