Church hosts back-to-school prayer

SALISBURY, Md. – Students heading back to school this week could be feeling a bit nervous on Sunday before heading back to school this week, but one local church helped ease their anxiety.

Cathedral of Love Church hosted a prayer session for students before they headed back to school for the year.

Students, parents, and teachers were all invited to the church.

Church leaders tell 47 ABC that they do this prayer session every year because, for them, it’s important to send students back to school with a little bit of comfort.

“It’s very important to us to pray to our young people, there’s so much going on in the school system now and so much going on in our world period, from years past up until now, our young people definitely need to be covered in prayer,” Garry Levere, Youth Pastor at the church, said.

Church leaders also hosted a school supply giveaway on Saturday where students received book bags, school supplies, and even free hair cuts.
