Death investigation underway in Lincoln

LINCOLN, Del. – Delaware State Police say they are currently conducting a death investigation in Lincoln.

Just before 8:30 p.m., troopers were called to respond to a residence in the 15000 block of Winner Circle. On arrival, troopers found a 34-year-old male who was suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim was initially taken to Sussex Bayhealth Hospital but was later transferred to Christiana Hospital where he died as a result of his injuries. Police say his name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Details are limited at this time, but police say there is no threat or concern to the public’s safety.
