Parkside falters in state semifinal to Century

Boys Lacrosse with best finish since 2010

PASADENA, MD- Parkside boys lacrosse fell in their state semifinal matchup with Century High School (Sykesville, MD) 7-4 on Friday evening at Northeast High School in Anne Arundel County.

The Rams, who fell behind 3-0 after one quarter, would finally get on the board shortly in the second quarter thanks to an unassisted goal from junior attack Marcus Yarns. Century would add another goal, followed by goals from Michael Daugherty and Dom Flora. Leading 4-3 near half, the Knights would add another score to give themselves a 2-goal cushion (5-3 headed into the half.

The second half produced the same early offensive struggles as the first–with the Rams being shutout again in the third, and Century knotting the only goal of the third quarter with 18 seconds remaining. The teams would trade goals in the final frame to send the Knights into their first ever state title game.
