SHA installing traffic light at dangerous Rt. 50 intersection

SALISBURY, Md. –  In Wicomico County, a dangerous intersection is finally getting so much needed safety improvements added to it.
Maryland State Highway Administration has officially started installing a traffic ligh on Route 50 and White Lowe Road in Salisbury.

It’s an intersection that’s had many accidents, even a few fatal ones, which is they are placing a signal for westbound traffic and will have eastbound traffic turning into white low road.

“Also the signal is going to be activated by traffic so if there’s no traffic trying to make that crossover the signal is not going to be activated as often as it will if traffic is backing up there,” explains Jay Meredith of SHA.

This project is expected to be finished in the late fall, but in the meantime SHA says there will be closures.
