(5) Salisbury women’s lacrosse holds on to beat (16) TCNJ

SALISBURY, Md.- In their 8th game against a ranked opponent this year, the Salisbury women’s lacrosse team held off 16th-ranked TCNJ in the final moments for a 8-7 win on Saturday afternoon.

SU keeper Skye Graham put together another masterpiece in net, stopping eight shots on the day. It’s the fifth straight game that the SU defense has held opponents to eight goals of fewer.

Two quick Gianna Demato goals would gives Salisbury (12-2) the quick 2-0 lead, until TCNJ put together four straight goals to take a 4-2 lead. The Gulls would even it up at 4-4 before halftime, and in the second half, a goal from Taylor Poore would break the tie early, and after another Lions goal, Easton graduate Emma Skoglund would break the tie once again.

TCNJ would knot the game up again after that, but another score from Skoglund and Demato’s fourth goal of the game would give the Gulls a lead they would not relinquish.

Another ranked matchup is on tap for Salisbury, who travels to take on (8) York (Pa.) on Wednesday, April 17th.
