Search for next Wicomico County board member underway, officials seeking applicants

SALISBURY, Md. – Officials in Wicomico County have begun the search for a new board member. The district three seat is open, because of the unfortunate passing of school board member David Goslee. Officials with the nominating commission say those interested in applying for the position must be at least 21 years old and live in district 3. They add that all applications must be submitted on or before Friday, March 1st.

“The nomination commission is subject to a very rigid timeline we have 60 days from the time the seat was vacant before the suggestion to the county council must be made,” said nominating commission member Joan Smith.

Once officials receive the applications there will be public hearings to announce the two final candidates. The county council will then have 60 days to vote and select their district three representative. Candidates may obtain applications by emailing boenominations@vahoo.com, contacting any member of the Nominating Commission, or the Office of the Wicomico County Council, located at 125 North Division Street, Salisbury, Maryland 21801.
