UPDATE: Body recovered at the Indian River Inlet
48-year-old female found washed ashore by surfers
Rehoboth Beach, Del. – Officials in Delaware are currently investigating after local surfers discovered a body that had washed up on shore during the evening hours of February 12, 2019.
According to Michael Globetti, a spokesperson with the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC), Delaware State Police were assisted by DNREC Park Rangers in the recovery efforts of a victim at the North Side of the Indian River Inlet.
Master Corporal Melissa Jaffe of the Delaware State Police tells 47 ABC that the victim was a 48-year-old female from Lewes and that her body has been turned over to the Delaware Division of Forensic Science in order to determine the cause and manner of death.
At this time there is no suspicious activity surrounding the incident.
