Dover remains undefeated behind Allen’s big night
CAMDEN, Del.- The Dover Senators defeated the Caesar Rodney Riders 71-51 to move to 3-0 on the year. With the loss, the Riders drop to 1-1.
It was a sold out crowd at Caesar Rodney high school with well over 100 fans outside vying to get inside to see the latest installment of this age old rivalry. A close game to start, midway through the first quarter the score would be tied at 6. After a timeout, Dover would start to turn on the heat.
Ending the first quarter up 20-10, Dover would keep the same energy and stay ahead the rest of the half to lead 33-22. Senators Elijah Allen dominated the half with 16 points. In the second half it was much of the same. The Senators would outscore the riders 38-29 in half number two and go on to win 71-51. Junior Elijah Allen shined all night leading all scorers with 27 total points for Dover.
The Senators will host a red hot undefeated Sussex Central next Tuesday at 7 as they look to move to 4-0 on the year. Caesar Rodney will try and get above .500 when they travel to take on Cape Henlopen next Friday at 6:15.
