West Salisbury educator wins ‘Teacher Who Makes A Difference’ award

SALISBURY, Md. – On Monday, West Salisbury Elementary students gathered to celebrate a very deserving teacher.

Angel Wright is a 2nd grade teacher at West Salisbury Elementary School and is the winner of 47 ABC’s October ‘Teacher Who Makes a Difference’ award.

She’s been teaching at West Salisbury for 11 years now and everyone tells us she goes above and beyond for her students and treats every student fairly every single day.

We had a chance to surprise her Monday for being a teacher in our area that is having a positive impact on our youth.

“It is a joy, it truly is a joy to make a difference and I wake up each day, I come to work and it’s like we all get a clean slate everyday and we start all over again. This is why I do it, the faces you see these faces right here and how they’re smiling at me, that’s why I do it,” explains Wright.

The ‘Teacher Who Makes A Difference’ award is brought to you in part by Accurate Optical. If you know of a teacher like Angel who deserves to be recognized for their hard work and dedication to teaching our youth, you can nominate them on our website.
