Salisbury University Closes Out Tibetan Monk Residency
(SALISBURY, Md) – Salisbury University ended their week-long celebration of the culture of Tibetan Monks.
The Tibetan Monks’ residency, which started on October 13th at Salisbury University wrapped up Saturday with a special closing ceremony.
The monks completed the focal point of the residency, construction of a mandala made from sand.
And the monks made sure, in spite of the weather preventing the closing ceremony from taking place outside, how they swept away the sand that made the Mandala.
Monk, Tsewang Bunchok tells WMDT, “When we complete the mandala, dismantle it. We need to give the, you know, some small portion of Saint Blessing sent to the public to distribute to distribute to the public. And then, you know, they will take this as a blessing sand…”
