LEWES, Del. – In honor of Veteran’s Day, the Cape May-Lewes Ferry has announced that they will offer free passenger round trip, same day travel for Veterans and Active Military with valid ID on November 11th.

We’re told this is the second year that the Delaware Bay Service is offering the special free fare in honor of Veteran’s Day. In addition to the free fare, military personnel and veterans will receive a free cup of coffee or a fountain soda plus 11% off any food or retail purchases in either terminal or aboard a ferry vessel.

Ferry officials said they have also decided to dedicate the entire month of November to Veteran’s Appreciation, rather than just one day.

“All active or retired military personnel who use our service during the month of November – including on Veteran’s Day – will receive an emailed discount voucher before the end of the year. The voucher will be worth $11 off any future travel aboard the Ferry through May 31st, 2019”, said Terry Anstead, Customer Service Manager.

Anstead also added that a valid military ID is required to receive the discount voucher.

On Sunday, November 11th, all active military and veterans are eligible for free, round trip foot passenger travel on the Cape-May Lewes Ferry. If traveling round trip with a vehicle, standard rates apply with a $14 discount. These discounted rates are only available on November 11th, 2018, and cannot be combined with other discounts or promotions.
