Salisbury man convicted of 3rd degree sex offense

SALISBURY, Md. – A Wicomico County jury has convicted a Salisbury man on sex offense charges.

On October 11th, 41-year-old Harry Lee Chisum was convicted of one count each of 3rd degree sex offense, sexual solicitation of a minor, and 2nd degree assault, following a two day trial. A pre-sentence investigation and mental health evaluation was ordered prior to sentencing.

The charges stem from an incident that occurred in March 2018, involving a child under the age of 15 at the time of the incident. Chisum reportedly knew the victim through a family relationship.

Chisum faces a maximum of 20 years in the Division of Corrections and will be required to register as a Tier II sex offender for 25 years upon release.
