Amber Alert issued for 12-year-old Virginia girl

Alerts were issued after police say they believe a man abducted a 12-year-old Virginia girl and her grandmother. 

On Tuesday, Virginia State Police says an Amber Alert has been activated for 12-year-old Angie Carolina Rodriguez Rubio and a Critically Missing Adult Alert was activated for her grandmother, 48-year-old Elizabeth Rodriguez Rubio of Harrisonburg. Troopers say on August 5, around 1:30 PM, Rodriguez Rubio and her grandmother were last seen in the 2800 block of South Main Street with Hareton Jaime Rodriguez-Sariol in Harrisonburg. According to the report, Sariol is believed to have abducted the 12-year-old and her grandmother.

Police say all three individuals were believed to be traveling in Sariol's vehicle, which was involved in a vehicle fire on I-66 in Warren County. Authorities report that Rodriguez-Sariol is believed to be traveling north toward New York in white 2000 Volvo tractor trailer, owned by AMG Express L.L.C., with Virginia license plate number 21739PZ.

According to the report, Angie Rodriguez Rubio is described as standing 5'1" tall, weighing 112 lbs., with long, curly, brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a black blouse with flowers, black leggings-style pants and white sandals. Law enforcements described Elizabeth Rodriguez Rubio as standing 5'4" tall, weighing 140 lbs. She was last seen wearing a burgundy blouse and a black skirt.

VSP reports that Rodriguez-Sariol is described as standing 5'6" tall, weighing approximately 180 lbs. with short black hair and brown eyes. Troopers say he has a known history of infatuation with Elizabeth Rodriguez Rubio and he was last seen at the 2 mile marker on I-66 where the vehicle fire happened.
