Beach goers dodging construction equipment heading to the shore

The weather has been beautiful recently to hit the sand, but some visitors are a bit irritated by the timing of one of the town's beach projects.

Ramps leading to the Bethany beaches are being closed off for beach crossover construction, something that normally won't take place during the heavy tourism season.

Bethany's beach and dune replenishment projects are now complete, but for the near future, beach-goers will be on the lookout for construction equipment.

"There'e probably some pretty unhappy people that come here.  I know some of the other state parks have been super more crowded than normal, because they come to Bethany every year not expecting to see a construction site and then when they see that they want to go elsewhere," said Ocean View resident Tom Bracht.

Work on the crossovers began earlier this month, for updates you can visit the Town of Bethany Beach's website.
