Congestion relief coming to St. Michaels through new turn lane

With the peak tourist season around the corner, one town in Talbot County is working to improve their roadways.

It may be a small change but it's going to have some big benefits for St. Michaels.

Today, removed the sidewalk to create a new left turn lane on Talbot Street onto Railroad Avenue.

They also plan to widen the road by four feet and remove parking from the other side.

Their town manager, Jean Weisman, tells 47 ABC they have an influx of visitors even on the weekends, so the road improvements were needed because it would be backed up for quite some time.

The project is a week long.

Weisman says they wanted to have this finished before the summer tourist season gets underway.
