Potomac Youth Conference comes to Salisbury

More than two thousand middle and high school students from ministries all around the Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C. area filled the Wicomico County Youth and Civics Center Saturday afternoon for the Potomac Youth Conference.

The annual conference has been going on since the eighties. Organizers say the program has grown year after year with musical performances and dynamic speakers, along with a changing theme.

This 2015 conference’s theme was entitled “selfie or selfless.”  The goal was to teach students about being a selfless individual, particularly focusing on service.

Youth pastor Dallas Cogle says, “Everything is focused on building up kids and letting them realize.  We’re building up our middle and high school students. God created them for a purpose.”

Organizers say this is the third time they’ve held the conference at the Wicomico County Youth and Civics Center. They tell 47ABC they would love to be back next year.
