Man wanted for felony home improvement fraud in Delaware

The City of Lewes Police Department has released information in order to get the public’s help in identifying a wanted felon who is victimizing Delawareans. 

On August 12, the Lewes Police Department says it investigated a home improvement fraud happening on Samantha Drive in the city of Lewes.  

According to the report, in this incident, an elderly couple in their 80’s entered into a contract with Frederick Maahs, also known by the company name “Freddy Fix-it”.    
Maahs apparently agreed to build a deck on their home, and the victim’s gave him a down payment of $3,000, however, the suspect left and has not returned to the home nor has he performed any work.  

Officials say that various investigative leads have been followed in an attempt to locate Maahs without success.

Frederick Maahs is described as a man, 75-years-old, with a last known address of Spruce Road in Rehoboth Beach, which is now vacant, and the 3000 block Canterbury Road, Harrington. He was reported to be last seen driving a white unknown make van.

Maahs is currently wanted by the Lewes Police Department for felony home improvement fraud and is additionally wanted for similar offenses by the Wilmington Police, Georgetown Police and Milton Police.
