ACLU moves forward against Pocomoke

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) said Tuesday they still have not heard back from the Pocomoke City Board of Elections, and plan to pursue legal action against them for what they believe is unlawful conduct related to the District 1 election.

Last week, a voting machine error led board of elections officials to call for a re-vote in District 1. To remedy the situation, board of elections officials said they would send absentee ballots to all voters who voted in the original election.  The ACLU agreed with the decision to hold a revote, however said the issue they have is that Pocomoke is not opening the election up to all voters.

The ACLU sent a letter to the board of elections on Friday, threatening legal action if the city did not fully re-open the election.
