Sells children medical update along with Downing Project fundraiser update

7-year-old Naomi and 4-year-old Aydahnn Sells are expected to return to Princess Anne later this month.
The medical update on Naomi is that she's been released from Kennedy Krieger and is in an outpatient rehab program. Adyahnn had part of his skull was removed after the original incident to allow the brain to swell and now the swelling has gone down. We are told they're ready to put the cranial plate back in so he has one more brain surgery ahead of him.
Despite the medical hurdles ahead, folks on the Eastern Shore of Maryland are working hard to clear the road to make sure their return home is a smooth one.
47 ABC caught up with Molly Hilligoss, Executive Director of Habitat For Humanity of Wicomico County, in Princess Anne as she was pounding the pavement encouraging everyone to donate to the Downing Project, an the effort to get Valentina Downing's home ready for the return of her grandkids.
Naomi and Aydahnn are victims of a violent attack back on December 6, 2016.
Their mother's boyfriend allegedly attacked the kids and their mom with a knife and hammer.
Airelle Sells passed away six days later.
This incident has been a trauma, not just for the family, but the entire community.
Greg Huggler is the general manager of the Washington Inn and Tavern in downtown Princess Anne.
And he tells us how they're helping out.
The restaurant is hosting a buffet, the February 23, 2017 from 5-9, where all proceeds will go directly towards the Downing Project.
Hilligoss estimates the cost of the upgrades to Valentina's home is about $72,000.
And just one week later, they raised about $16,000 in cash donations, more than $40,000 in pledges from licensed contractors, as well as material donations.
Molly says, "We only have $19,000 to raise and I'm feeling pretty confident that that's going to come in."
We're told the goal is to have the rest of the money raised by February 25, 2017, in order to have most of the construction can start right after.
Habitat For Humanity need the following materials: foundation block, electrical materials, wood for framing, roof decking, salt treated wood for the ramp and dock.
