30-year-old pedestrian killed in Newark

Delaware State Police say drugs and alcohol are being considered as factors in a fatal crash that killed a pedestrian.
Police say a 30-year-old man was crossing Delaware Route 4 in Newark when a car hit him Wednesday evening. The man, who had not been using an officially designated crosswalk, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the car, identified as 19-year-old Chase Urban of New Castle, stayed at the scene. He was not injured.
Police say drugs and alcohol use by the pedestrian are being considered as factors. The pedestrian’s name was not immediately released.
