Highlights from today's games.

finally starting up… yeah emily and thank goodness they are, the last few weeks of football season were pretty brutal for the crew. but it seems like the basketball season kind of snuck up on us although i am very excited it should be a great season with some interesting matchups beginning tonight. beginning in groove city where the defending bayside north champion cambridge vikings hosted the 3-0 salisbury school dragons. and although salisbury’s a private school, they didn’t come into this thing with any kind of fear, brock mccabe knocks down the jumper to give the dragons the early lead. vikings struggling to get on the board early on until tre boardley slices thru the middle for the lay in. as i said the dragons backing down in this one, daniel chasse hits the layup before the half…tied at 17 at the break in a low scoring game. but in the second half cambridge turned up the defense…steal goes up to jared bromwell, he kicks it up to jeremiah wongus…wongus with a great pass inside to boardley for two. and on the offensive end, bromwell creating once again, gonna get it to boardley, who sends it right back to him..cambridge goes on to roll 55-34. same teams for the ladies going at it..salisbury school coming in unbeaten but the vikings come out hot.. on the break abbey robinson finishes the lay-in. later on she gets the pass and steps into a three..big half for the sophomore. salisbury school putting up some nice shots of their own, rebecca lynch turnig and firing a long two pointer…but cambridge would get the lead and not let go, off the steal natayla pritchett goes all the way, lady vikings take it 41-16. maryland eastern shore back at home tonight squaring off with division ii central penn..early on looked like the knights were on to something, tyree tucker knocks down a three… later on hawks turn it over, and it goes to tyrie orosco…central penn led this game early in a shocker. but the hawks get it together midway thru the first..bakari copeland with a big man move getting into the lane and making the strong move to the cup. later off a turnover, its ryan andino the 3-point specialist knocking one down from the corner.. and the hawks finish em off thomas rivera driving the lane, get the hoop plus the foul….hawks avoid their first 0-8 start in 3 years with a 87-74 win tonight. over to our play of the day from the syracuse/uconn game tonight..at halftime a fan comes out of the stands and nails a three-pointer to win 5 thousand dollars. now here’s the kicker..at halftime, the teams only combined to shoot 25% from the three point line..this guy comes out with no warm ups and nails one at the half..and gets five thousand dollars for it. amazing. that’s it for sports. good news is just ahead- keep it right here — you’re watching 47 abc! catch more of the action on our sports page at 47abc.com hairstyles brought to you by
