Dover man hospitalized after apparent robbery victim fights back

A Dover man was arrested on Sunday, after he reportedly attempted to rob a man at knife-point, who then apparently fought back.
Dover Police say around 3:30 PM, a 20-year-old man was walking on North West Street, near Fulton Street when he was approached by a man, later identified as 42-year-old Michael Hackett.
According to the report, Hackett demanded money from the 20-year-old, who then punched Hackett in the face. The two then started fighting, during which Hackett apparently pulled a 10″ hunting knife.
The victim suffered defensive wounds to his hand, while Hackett ended up with a puncture wound to his chest. Both individuals were rushed to Bayhealth Kent General Hospital, where the 20-year-old was treated for his injuries, and released, while Hackett remains hospitalized for treatment.
Once released, Hackett will be charged with robbery 1st degree, assault 2nd degree, carry concealed deadly weapon, possession of a deadly weapon during commission of felony, and possession of deadly weapon by person prohibited.
