Two arrested on drug charges inside Dover Casino

Two people were arrested at a local casino in Sunday, after they were reportedly seen selling drugs.

Dover Police say just before 10:40 PM, Officers responded to the Dover Downs Hotel and Casino on North DuPont Highway, for reports of a woman asking for painkiller medication from other patrons. Casino Security kept an eye on the woman through video surveillance, while waiting for Officers to arrived. During this time, Security apparently saw the woman and a man exchange a clear plastic baggie of white powder.

Once on scene, Police say they found 20-year-old Christina Ligameri, and took her into custody, during which 403 baggies of heroin, totaling more than 6 grams, were found on her. Police say they also arrested 29-year-old Mustafe Whitfield, inside the casino, and found brass knuckles, along with Ligameri’s wallet and ID, on him.

Both were charged with possession of heroin, possession with intent to deliver, conspiracy 2nd degree, possession of drug paraphernalia. Ligameri was additionally charged with resisting arrest, while Whitfield was additionally charged with carry a concealed deadly weapon – brass knuckles, possession of deadly weapon by a person prohibited – brass knuckles, and local fugitive.

Both Ligameri and Whitfield are being held bond.
