Dover Police to hold training exercise at Del. Tech

DOVER, Del. – The Dover Police Department will be participating in an emergency response exercise at the Delaware Technical and Community College (Terry Campus) later this week.

The exercise is scheduled to begin at approximately 8 a.m. on Wednesday, October 13th, and is expected to end by mid-morning. Emergency equipment and personnel will be in the area of the campus, but should not affect traffic flow or daily operations.

We’re told these exercises are designed to test the capabilities of the Dover Police Department and other participating agencies in the event of a true emergency. The exercise will also allow participants to become more educated about the resources that each individual agency and participant can provide in a true emergency and discuss ways to improve responses to such incidents.

Police say this exercise is not expected to disrupt traffic in the area. There will be a large gathering of emergency vehicles, equipment, and personnel on-site, but the public should not be alarmed as this is only a training exercise.
