Stockton man sentenced for child pornography

A Worcester County man has been sentenced to 16 years in prison, followed by a lifetime of supervised release, for the production and possession of child pornography.

Laiton Blake Witkowski, 42, of Stockton, must register as a sex offender upon his release from prison.

Witkowski possessed over 8,000 images of child pornography, and more than 100 videos. Police searched Witkowski’s house on a warrant in February 2014, and discovered the significant amount of pornography in different formats.

In Witkowski’s collection were images and videos of child pornography of two girls in August to September of 2009. The girls were approximately 10 and 12-years-old at the time.  In the videos, the girls are sleeping or using the bathroom, or sitting at a computer with Witkowski standing behind a victim in sexually explicit poses.

United States Attorney Rod J. Rosenstein commended HSI Ocean City, Worcester County Sheriff’s Office, Maryland State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC) and the Worcester County State’s Attorney’s Office for their work in tracking down and arresting Witkowski.

This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched by the Department of Justice to prevent cases of child sexual exploitation and abuse.
