Baltimore Symphony Orchestra To Play at Mar-Va Theater
Pocomoke City, Md. – The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra is on the road, and they are preparing for a stop at a historic theatre in Worcester County.
As part of the “Music For Maryland” program, the orchestra is planning to visit every county in Maryland. The Worcester County stop will be in Pocomoke City at the historic Mar-Va Theater. The skilful brass ensemble is coming to the intimate venue which seats about 400 people. The Mar-Va theatre is also only a year away from a huge milestone – it’s centennial anniversary.
Allison Burr-Livingstone is the Senior VP and Communications Officer for the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, and explained the importance of the initiative.
“So I hope it’s good, not just a reminder about the importance of live symphonic or chamber music, but the importance of art of all kinds.” Said Livingstone. “And for everyone to remain kind of artistically curious, and to open up that chance for inspiration.”
The show will begin at 7pm, and tickets are on a “pay as you wish” system, but a $10 donation is suggested. Spots can be reserved ahead of time on BSO’s website. Any remaining seats will be sold at the door.
