Fire torches 8-acres near Seaford home

Crews responded to a fire in Seaford, that reportedly caught eight acres on fire.

The incident happened around 2:30 p.m. According to the Seaford Fire Department, a man was burning trash outside his home on Cokesbury Road in a 50-gallon drone. When he stepped away, eight-acres of brush and debris reportedly caught fire.

The fire took about an hour and a half to contain.

Fire crews from Georgetown, Bridgeville, and Blades also assisted.

There were no reported injuries.
