DSP investigating multiple vehicle hit and run

Delaware State Police are currently investigating a motor vehicle accident that killed a pedestrian on I-495 northbound in Edgemoor, New Castle County, on Thursday, January 22, 2015.

Police say at approximately 8:00 p.m., the unknown male was walking in the northbound lanes of I-495 north of the Edgemoor Road intersection. Police report the pedestrian was struck by an unknown make and model vehicle also travelling north. The collision reportedly knocked the man to the ground and he was run over by multiple vehicles after that.

Police pronounced the man dead on the scene. Authorities are asking for help identifying the man, who was not carrying any identification. An investigation has also ensued to find the vehicles who hit him, as no one stopped at the scene.
