Trial date set for accused killer Matthew Burton

A trial date has been set for accused killer Matthew Burton.

According to sources close to the investigation, Burton will face trial in Delaware in April of 2016. He is accused of brutally murdering Nicole Bennett near a Millsboro church where Bennett had been working late in June of 2012.

After fighting extradition for years Burton was eventually extradited to Delaware where he could face the death penalty.

He is also due in court this June for a bond hearing.

The Bennett family tells 47 ABC, after our Life After Death series, someone made an anonymous donation of $500 to the Nicole Bennett memorial fund. The family greatly appreciates the help.
