Hot shooting night pushes UMES over Morgan State on senior day

UMES shot 50% from the field, and knocked down 9 three pointers on the way to their 18th win of the season, beating Morgan State 89-76.

Five players scored in double figures for the Hawks, led by Dominique Elliott’s 16 point, 10 rebound effort. Senior Mike Myers also registered yet another double-double, scoring 13 points, and pulling down 10 boards. Devin Martin led the Hawks with 17 points off the bench, with Head Coach Bobby Collins electing to go with a senior-laden staring lineup for the special day. No Hawk played over 26 minutes in the win. Morgan was led by forward Cedric Blossom’s 17 points and 7 rebounds.

The win gives UMES their 18th win of the season, the most by a Hawks team since the 1973-1974 season. The Hawks will await their seeding in the upcoming MEAC tournament next week in Norfolk, VA.
