Georgetown hunter pleads guilty to illegal deer hunting charges

Authorities in Delaware say a Georgetown man has pleaded guilty, after a camera caught him illegally hunting deer.

DNREC Division of Fish & Wildlife Enforcement Natural Resources Police officers say on December 4th, 2014, a trail camera filmed a man hunting with a rifle on private property during bow season. That investigation led to the arrest of 42-year-old David Naumann.

He was later charged with hunting white-tailed deer during a closed season, trespassing to hunt, failure to tag antlerless deer, failure to display required hunter orange, unlicensed hunting, removing antlerless deer parts prior to checking, failure to check antlerless deer within 24 hours, failure to retain tag with antlerless deer, possession of unlawfully taken antlerless deer, and unlawfully taking an antlerless deer during archery season with a weapon other than bow and arrow or crossbow.

On March 31st, 2015 Naumann pleaded guilty to six charges at the Justice of the Peace Court in Georgetown. He was also fined $1,113 and lost his hunting license for two years.
