DE death row inmate seeking new trial

A man convicted of killing a Georgetown police officer is looking for a new trial.
Derrick Powell is now on death row after being convicted in the death of 29-year-old patrolman Chad Spicer back in 2009. According to the Delaware Department of Justice, Powell is now seeking a new trial claiming inadequate council in his trial and appeals.
The initial hearings were earlier this week, but officials tell 47 ABC oral arguments will be heard later this year.
