St. Michaels mercy rules Joppatowne to advance

The Saint Michaels baseball team advanced to the second round of the Maryland state playoffs, defeating Joppatowne 12-2 in five innings Friday afternoon at Harold Baines Field.

Matt Grogan, Andrew Risher, and Tucker Heinlein were among some Saints batting in runs. The Mariners actually led 2-1 in the second inning, before the Saints scored 11 unanswered runs.

St. Michaels moves on to host Bohemia Manor on May 11th, first pitch set for 4 p.m.
