East Salisbury Elementary student receives surprise of a lifetime before Christmas

If we're lucky enough, we're able to hug our loved ones close this season and for one fifth grader at East Salisbury Elementary, he's able to do just that.

This morning, he got his Christmas presents a bit early this year and this is something that money can't buy.

It's the surprise of a lifetime for Jeremiah Ward. His older brother Timothy Oradat hadn't seen him since he left for the Army in Germany.

Timothy wasn't expecting to make it home for the holidays, but when he got the green light, he decided to hand over the perfect gift to his baby brother.

Oradat says, "We're really close growing up and everything, I would always take care of him, I'd have to watch him and everything and take care of him and we grew real close."

Jeremiah, thought it was just another day at school, but instead of another lesson from a text book, he learned a lesson from the heart.

It took a week to plan and their principal Glendon Jones says they wanted to have it in the classroom so all the students can enjoy the special moment.

Besides that, he says, "We want the students to understand that these are Americans that are fighting for our country and fighting for us as a nation."

And even though it was hard to keep this secret quiet, this moment is loud and clear.

That no love or bond is like the one of family.

Before he left for Germany, Oradat and his brother would go to one specific location all the time. And the tradition continues today. Jeremiah said they are heading to their favorite spot, Chuck E. Cheese's to play some games.

Oradat will be home for 3 weeks and they will continue to cherish each moment.
