Cause of Ridgely outbuilding fire under investigation

The cause of an outbuilding fire in Caroline County on Monday, is under investigation.

The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office says a passerby discovered the blaze around 12:15 AM. A reported 25 firefighters responded to the scene on Ridgely Road, and reportedly found a metal 40′ x 40′ outbuilding on fire. According to the report, the Ridgely and Goldsboro Fire Departments had the flames under control in about an hour.

Investigators say the fire started inside of the building, but are still looking into just what caused the blaze. There were no injuries reported, and total damages are estimated at $220,000.
