Milford man arrested following reported machete threat

A Milford man was arrested earlier in July, after he reportedly pulled a machete during a fight.

Milford Police say on July 5, 46-year-old Charnel Evarus, and a 34-year-old woman were fighting on the phone, before Evarus returned to the Franklin Street home.

Once back, Evarus and the woman reportedly got into another argument, during which he grabbed a machete, and raised it towards the vicitm. The woman fled the home, and call Police. Evarus was arrested. Police say they found that there were a 6 and 7-year-old child inside the home during the incident.

Evarus was charged with aggravated menacing, possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, 2 counts of endangering the welfare of a child, and offensive touching, before being released on a $9,000 unsecured bond.
