UPDATE: Man facing charges in connection to NYC explosion; Investigation ongoing

A man is facing terrorism charges including using weapons of mass destruction, after authorities say he set off a homemade bomb in a passageway connecting a bus terminal and subway, in New York City.
Officials say 27-year-old Akayed Ullah, an immigrant from Bangladesh, is charged with criminal possession of a weapon, supporting an act of terrorism, and making a terroristic threat. On Tuesday, federal authorities charged Ullah with providing material support to terrorists and using weapons of mass destruction. The charges stem from an attempted terrorist attack on Monday, where Ullah reportedly set off a pipe bomb in a passageway connecting New York City's Port Authority bus terminal and the Times Square subway station, in Manhattan.
Ullah was apparently badly injured in the attack and is hospitalized.
According to ABC News, the homemade bomb was " built from a 12-inch-long pipe, black powder and rigged with a 9-volt battery and a wire that came from a Christmas light. THe bomb reportedly had nails stuffed into it, and it had the ability to impose more injuries than it did. The bomb is currently being analyzed in the FBI lab, in Quantico, VA.
The Associated Press (AP) reports that Federal prosecutors say that Ullah wrote on Facebook: "Trump, you failed to protect your nation." Authorities say "it's getting harder and harder to defend against such acts because would-be terrorists are going online to read propaganda without speaking with any larger group," according to AP.
Federal officials report that Ullah will have a hospital court proceeding later Tuesday or Wednesday.
This incident remains under investigation by Federal and New York officials. For more information, click here.
