Florida man dead after Sussex Co. pedestrian crash

A Florida man is now dead after he was hit by a car in Sussex County.

According to Delaware State Police, Cortez Solomon, 50, of Florida, was trying to cross Route 113 around 1:40 Saturday morning. When he stepped out onto the street, he was apparently hit by an S-U-V traveling southbound.

Soloman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say they are investigating whether alcohol, on the part of Solomon, could have been a factor. No one else was hurt in the collision.
